GroceryTracker
Version 0.2.0 · released 30 September 2026 · what's new · release notes · MIT license
GroceryTracker runs on a computer in your home, such as a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5, a NAS or any Linux machine, and every phone and laptop in the household uses it in the browser. It comes as ready-made containers for x86-64 and ARM64, so there is nothing to build.
Download and installKeep it at home. GroceryTracker has no login: anyone who can reach it can read and change everything. Use it on your home network or over a VPN such as Tailscale, and don't open it to the internet.
You need
- A Linux machine that stays on (x86-64 or ARM64).
- Podman with
podman compose, or Docker with its Compose plugin.
Install
- Make a folder for it and download the two setup files:
mkdir grocerytracker && cd grocerytracker curl -LO https://github.com/CodeIsNotEvil/MyMonoRepo/releases/download/grocerytracker-v0.2.0/compose.yaml curl -LO https://github.com/CodeIsNotEvil/MyMonoRepo/releases/download/grocerytracker-v0.2.0/env.example - Create your settings and choose a database password:
cp env.example .env nano .env # set POSTGRES_PASSWORD - Start it. The first start downloads the images:
podman compose up -d # or: docker compose up -d - Open
http://<your-machine>:8080on any device in your home.
Update
podman compose pull && podman compose up -d
Your data stays in its own volume, and database changes are applied automatically when the
new version starts. To stay on one version until you choose to update, set
GROCERYTRACKER_VERSION=0.2.0 in .env.
Install it on your phone (HTTPS)
Browsers only let you install GroceryTracker as an app, and use it offline, over HTTPS.
Put a certificate named grocerytracker.crt with its key
grocerytracker.key in a certs folder next to
compose.yaml. It is then served on port 8443. The
HTTPS guide
shows how to make a certificate your devices trust.
What's new
0.2.0 30 September 2026
Added
- Settings → About shows the version you are running, with a link to this list of changes. After an update it tells you whether your browser has picked up the new version yet.
0.1.0 27 September 2026
Added
- First release: an offline-first grocery spend tracker that installs as an app from the browser. Trips, a spending dashboard, balances and settlements between people, and CSV import all work without a connection and sync to your own server when it's reachable.
- Prebuilt images for amd64 and arm64 (Raspberry Pi) on GitHub's container registry, installed with one
compose.yaml.

LaunchHeim
Version 0.7.1 · released 14 October 2026 · what's new · release notes · MIT license
A Valheim mod launcher. Each instance is its own modpack with its own BepInEx, mods and configs, and the game install stays vanilla. You need Valheim on Steam.
Download and installFor Windows 10 and 11. The Store installs the same setup you can download here, so it
updates the same way: when a new version is out, LaunchHeim says so in its sidebar, and
Update now installs it. Your instances stay in %LOCALAPPDATA%\LaunchHeim.
A new release can take a few days to reach the Store; the Windows setup tab always has the newest one.
Run it. It installs LaunchHeim for you only (no administrator needed) or for all users. Windows doesn't know our certificate, so "Windows protected your PC" needs More info → Run anyway.
When a new version is out, LaunchHeim says so in its sidebar: Update now installs it
and starts again. Your instances stay in %LOCALAPPDATA%\LaunchHeim, also when you
uninstall it (Windows Settings → Apps).
Rather not install anything? The portable zip
(91.7 MB) has the same files: unzip it anywhere and start
LaunchHeim.exe. To update it, replace the folder.
Check the download
In PowerShell, in the folder you saved it to. This prints True when the file is
intact:
(Get-FileHash .\LaunchHeim-0.7.1-win-x64-setup.exe).Hash -eq "81f6c7b6aa2fd10c253401db561ac7a785d50e8355f98466a00542cc6eef0d12"
The setup and LaunchHeim's own files are signed by CodeIsNotEvil with a self-signed
certificate. That doesn't make Windows trust it, but it shows the files are ours and unchanged.
This prints True:
(Get-AuthenticodeSignature .\LaunchHeim-0.7.1-win-x64-setup.exe).SignerCertificate.Thumbprint -eq "284F5384B189984492629622EDC4A40646C5D8F6"
curl -LO https://github.com/CodeIsNotEvil/MyMonoRepo/releases/download/launchheim-v0.7.1/launchheim-git-0.7.1.r240.gb4130ee-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
echo "db3fd4c90722eed74a23f05aef58afb791ac69d0413ad315aee8444939830916 launchheim-git-0.7.1.r240.gb4130ee-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst" | sha256sum -c
sudo pacman -U ./launchheim-git-0.7.1.r240.gb4130ee-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
The package isn't signed, so pacman won't install it straight from the link; download it
first. sha256sum -c prints OK when the file matches the release.
Qt 5 and .NET come from the official repositories.
To update, run the same commands for the new version. pacman -Syu doesn't
see new releases, because LaunchHeim isn't in a repository. To build it yourself instead,
run makepkg -si in Applications/LaunchHeim/packaging/arch.
For Debian 13, Ubuntu 24.04 and newer:
curl -LO https://github.com/CodeIsNotEvil/MyMonoRepo/releases/download/launchheim-v0.7.1/launchheim_0.7.1-1_amd64.deb
echo "293336f8c2ccc33b23c466bcbe11e8b2165bfbf092dd8d960e163c786816c628 launchheim_0.7.1-1_amd64.deb" | sha256sum -c
sudo apt install ./launchheim_0.7.1-1_amd64.deb
To update, run the same commands for the new version.
For Fedora, RHEL 9 and 10:
curl -LO https://github.com/CodeIsNotEvil/MyMonoRepo/releases/download/launchheim-v0.7.1/launchheim-0.7.1-1.x86_64.rpm
echo "be96496e290150319891ea9195bcfb5b6e58a64891f154ac05c756b37fd1c765 launchheim-0.7.1-1.x86_64.rpm" | sha256sum -c
sudo dnf install ./launchheim-0.7.1-1.x86_64.rpm
On RHEL 10 and its rebuilds, enable EPEL first (sudo dnf install epel-release),
which still has Qt 5. To update, run the same commands for the new version.
LaunchHeim Companion keeps your instances' mod lists on the phone: browse Thunderstore, Nexus Mods and CurseForge on the way and add mods, see who's online on your servers, and send the lists back to LaunchHeim at home. It needs Android 8 or newer and isn't in the Play Store.
- Open this page on the phone, tap the download, and open the file when it's done.
- Android asks to allow installing apps from your browser (or file manager) the first time. Allow it, go back, and install.
- On the PC, turn on Settings → Phone sync, then press the phone button on an instance's page. Keep both on the same Wi-Fi. If the phone can't find the PC, Settings → Phone sync shows how to let it through the firewall.
To update, install the new APK over the old one; your lists are kept.
Updates with Obtainium
- In Obtainium, tap Add App and
enter
https://github.com/CodeIsNotEvil/MyMonoRepoas the source URL. - Set Filter release titles by regular expression to
^LaunchHeim. The repository also releases GroceryTracker, which has no APK. - Tap Add. Obtainium recognises the installed companion and installs new versions when they come out.
Check the file on a PC first
curl -LO https://github.com/CodeIsNotEvil/MyMonoRepo/releases/download/launchheim-v0.7.1/LaunchHeimCompanion-0.7.1.apk
echo "b5f752c0c0e70a1eb0f377e0250710dea7904f4324f43bab1322c16be58331d3 LaunchHeimCompanion-0.7.1.apk" | sha256sum -c
LaunchHeim is MIT licensed and built on open-source software, including Qt 5.15
under the GNU LGPL v3. Every download contains THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt and the
license texts (read them online).
The Qt in the Windows builds (the Store's, the setup and the zip) is the unmodified Qt 5.15.2; its source is at
download.qt.io.
What's new
0.7.1 14 October 2026
Fixed
- Starting an instance with Steam's Play button now works when Valheim runs in Steam Linux Runtime: in 0.7.0 the game didn't start at all. Vanilla wasn't affected.
- With Proton forced for Valheim, Steam's Play button starts the game as Steam would instead of failing (LaunchHeim's mods need the Linux version of the game).
launchheim steam %command%typed into a terminal explains that the line belongs in Valheim's launch options instead of crashing.
0.7.0 14 October 2026
Added
- Start LaunchHeim's setups from Steam: paste the line from Settings → "Start from Steam" into Valheim's launch options, and Steam's Play button starts what you played last in LaunchHeim, with its mods, character and server or world. LaunchHeim doesn't need to be open.
- A command line:
launchheim playstarts the game without the window (what you played last, or pick one with--instance,--server,--worldand--character), andlaunchheim listshows what there is to pick.launchheim helpexplains it all. - Start instantly: switch it on for a server or world in its Play dialog, and Valheim loads the world or joins the server right away, without clicking through the menus. For vanilla Valheim, LaunchHeim sets up its own BepInEx for this once, without any gameplay mods; achievements keep working.
- Keep Steam achievements when playing with mods: one switch in Settings → Game does what Valheim's dev command
yesiuseddevcommandsbutiwantmyachievementsanywaydoes, for every character you play with an instance. Switching it off undoes it. - Remove an installed mod right from its card on the Browse page with the red button.
Fixed
- Copy buttons now work on Windows: the update commands, the console lines and the Steam line.
- Text in input fields sits in the middle instead of slightly too high.
0.6.0 9 October 2026
Added
- Give an instance its own icon: click it to pick one of twelve colors, change its letters, or use a picture. Servers and worlds on the Play page get the same choices.
- Share an instance with a friend: the share button on its page gives you the modpack file to drag or paste into a chat or a folder.
- Drop mod files (.zip, .7z, .rar or .dll) onto an open instance to install them.
- The Linux packages bring firewall rules for phone sync:
sudo ufw allow LaunchHeim, or thelaunchheimfirewalld service. Settings → Phone sync says when ufw is blocking your phone, and on Windows it can allow LaunchHeim in the firewall for you.
Changed
- Send an instance to the phone from its page, and the server list from the Play page.
- Pages open with just their title, without the explanation underneath.
- Settings says which Nexus key to copy (the one Nexus lists for Vortex), in fewer words.
- The window opens a little wider, so nothing on an instance's page is cut off, and fits smaller screens.
Fixed
- A mod list made on the phone now updates its instance when you send it again, instead of being imported as a new instance every time.
- A CurseForge key no longer looks broken: CurseForge doesn't offer Valheim mods to other apps, and Settings now says so and links to CurseForge for downloading them by hand.
- When the phone can't reach the PC, it now points at the PC's firewall.
0.5.4 8 October 2026
Added
- A Screenshots page in the menu with the pictures you took in Valheim with Steam (F12), newest first. Click one for a large preview, step through them with the arrow keys, show it in your file manager, or open it in your picture viewer.
Fixed
- Steam's overlay now works in a Valheim started from LaunchHeim: Shift+Tab, the friends list and F12 screenshots. On Windows LaunchHeim now starts Valheim through Steam, so the launch options in Valheim's Steam properties apply there too.
- On Windows in dark mode, the title bar and its buttons are dark too, instead of a white bar above LaunchHeim's dark window. The console window as well.
0.5.3 8 October 2026
Added
- A setup for Windows. It installs LaunchHeim for you or for all users, and asks whether you want a Start menu entry and a desktop shortcut. It also adds LaunchHeim to Windows' list of apps, so you can uninstall it there; your instances and settings stay.
- On Windows, Update now in the update reminder downloads the new version, installs it and starts LaunchHeim again. This works for copies installed with the setup; the portable zip still shows the commands.
- The Windows version is signed: the setup,
LaunchHeim.exeand LaunchHeim's own DLLs carry a signature fromCodeIsNotEvil, certificate thumbprint284F5384B189984492629622EDC4A40646C5D8F6. It shows the files come from LaunchHeim's build and weren't changed since. The certificate is self-signed, so Windows still calls the publisher unknown. The download page shows how to check it.
Fixed
- The update reminder's dialog now has its background behind all of its text and buttons, not just the title.
0.5.2 6 October 2026
Added
- LaunchHeim tells you when a new version is out, with one small line in the sidebar. Click it for the download page and the commands that update your install (Arch, Debian/Ubuntu, Fedora, Windows, or install.sh). Skip a version, or turn the reminder off and on again under Settings → About.
Fixed
- On Windows, LaunchHeim now sees that Steam is running and logged in before it starts Valheim. It read a registry value Steam no longer writes, so it started Steam again and then gave up.
- A Steam started as administrator no longer counts as not running.
0.5.1 5 October 2026
Fixed
- Send to phone no longer closes LaunchHeim when it sends only the server list, which is always the case while the library has no instances.
- Phone sync starts on Windows even when Windows has reserved its usual network port (Hyper-V and WSL do that); it then uses another free one, which phones still find.
0.5.0 5 October 2026
Added
- LaunchHeim Companion for Android: keep your instances' mod lists on the phone, browse Thunderstore, Nexus Mods and CurseForge and add mods with their dependencies, and see how many players are on your servers. Download the APK from the release or the download page.
- Send to phone (Library or an instance) sends your instances and Valheim's server list to the companion over your Wi-Fi, with no account and no cloud. It also works with the LocalSend app.
- Mod lists edited on the phone come back the same way: LaunchHeim lists what changed, and Update instance installs, removes and switches mods while your configs stay as they are. A list started on the phone becomes a new instance.
- Settings → Phone sync switches receiving on and sets the name phones see for this PC.
0.4.0 4 October 2026
Added
- A Play page with the servers from Valheim's Favorites and Recent lists and your worlds. Pick a character and a setup (vanilla or one of your instances) once, and the next time one click on Play starts it again with the same choice, and a server's password.
- Joining a server opens Valheim at the character selection with your character already picked, so Start takes you in. A world opens with its character and world selected in the menus.
- Give every server and world its own picture: click its icon on the Play page and choose an image.
- See how many players are on each server, updated every 30 seconds while the Play page is open. Valheim servers don't share player names, so only the number is shown.
- The sidebar shows which server or world you are playing.
Changed
- The Play button in the sidebar starts what you played last, including a server or world with its character and setup, instead of always starting vanilla Valheim.
0.3.0 30 September 2026
Added
- Modpacks: export an instance as an
.r2zfile and share it. Importing one creates a new instance with the same mods at the same versions, the same configs and the same launch options. The files also work with r2modman and the Thunderstore Mod Manager, and their profile exports import into LaunchHeim. - A console window that follows the game's logs live while you play: BepInEx's log for the instance, Unity's Player.log and LaunchHeim's own log, with errors and warnings highlighted and counted, a filter, and a button to copy the lines. It can open by itself every time the game starts.
- LaunchHeim keeps a log of its own, with every launch, install and error, for reporting problems.
- On Windows, an instance can show BepInEx's own console window next to the game.
Fixed
- On Linux, "Install from file" and choosing the game folder in Settings did nothing when LaunchHeim ran with its own copy of Qt (installed with
install.sh): the file dialog never opened.
0.2.0 30 September 2026
Added
- Steam is started for you. If Steam isn't running when you click Play, LaunchHeim starts it, waits until you are logged in and then starts Valheim. The sidebar shows "Starting Steam" or "Waiting for Steam" meanwhile.
- Settings → About shows the license and the software LaunchHeim is built on, with a button that opens the full third-party notices. Every download now includes them.
Changed
- The window and taskbar show the LaunchHeim logo on Linux and Windows instead of a generic icon.
Fixed
- Starting Valheim while Steam was closed showed only a black window, with no error.
- Settings → About showed version 1.0.0 instead of the real version, and LaunchHeim sent the same wrong version to Thunderstore and Nexus Mods.
0.1.0 27 September 2026
Added
- First release: separate modded instances for Valheim, each with its own BepInEx, mods and configs, while the game folder stays vanilla.
- Mods from Thunderstore, Nexus Mods and CurseForge, with dependencies and BepInEx installed automatically, and update checks for Thunderstore mods.
- Downloads for Windows 10/11, Arch and CachyOS, Debian and Ubuntu, and Fedora and RHEL.
Nexus Mods and CurseForge
Thunderstore works right away. For Nexus Mods, copy the API key Nexus lists for Vortex on your API keys page into Settings and press Register, so the website's "Mod Manager Download" buttons open LaunchHeim. Premium accounts can install straight from LaunchHeim. CurseForge doesn't let other apps download Valheim mods: download them on CurseForge and drop the file onto an instance.
What happens to my game folder?
On Linux, nothing: each instance's BepInEx is loaded from the instance folder. On Windows,
BepInEx's loader (winhttp.dll) has to sit next to the game, so LaunchHeim puts it
there, switched off. Starting Valheim from Steam stays vanilla. Delete that file and
doorstop_config.ini to remove it.
Why does Steam start the game on Windows?
On Windows, LaunchHeim asks Steam to start Valheim with the instance's settings, because Steam only adds its overlay (Shift+Tab, F12 screenshots) to games it starts itself. So the launch options in Valheim's Steam properties apply too. On Linux, LaunchHeim starts the game itself and loads the overlay the same way Steam does.
More in the LaunchHeim README.
Like the apps?
They're free and stay that way. If they save you time, a coffee on Ko-fi is a lovely way to say thanks.
